MONTGO NATIONAL PARK

Montgo Natural Park is a beautiful mountain shaped like a "sleeping elephant" (Montgo in Spanish) that dominates the area of Denia and Javea.

If you pick up a leaflet from the tourist information centre in Denia it will mark out several routes up the mountain depending on ability.

It is also suitable for a moderate/experienced cyclist

You can walk for an hour or a morning/afternoon, or all day!

Some of the flora on the Montgo is unique in the area and in abundance in the Spring time. There are several caves to explore and the views are incredible. At one point you can see Ibiza!

Best to walk in trainers as there is some loose shingle on the paths and a bit uneven in places. Take plenty of water on hot days and protection from the sun, don't forget your camera!
